TWW Scoring System

Quite possibly the most difficult thing to do - score riders. It is clear that the NORBA ranking system blows. Because we're ranking by category and not class, we have some flexibility. Points are transferable if someone decides to upgrade mid-year. Check this out:

You're probably asking, "What the hell?!" Well, we're trying to encourage upgrading (and discourage sandbagging). Here is our theory: the top 5 in the Beginner class should be able to crack into the top 20 of the Sport class. But with the NORBA way of scoring, a 20th place Sport racer gets 2 points. A 1st place Beginner racer gets 30 points. That is not right (and encourages sandbagging!).

It certainly isn't a science, however, we think ours is a better system. Also, each rider in the top 20 will get an additional point for each person in their class. This part of the NORBA scoring system is good - you should reward the riders who do well at the well attended, competitive races. No more getting rewarded for sandbagging your local race with you being the only person in your category.

No separate scoring for women - the equalizer for them is typically smaller classes. Plus, we've got some women in the group that could kick a few men's butts with ease.

And no one leaves empty handed - points are awarded just for racing (this is so us slow folks don't get shut out). This would normally not be included in full regional scoring.

If you register as Team Wrong Way as your club and fly the colors, we'll score you too!
