Humbug Hurry-up Race Report

Jeff and I just completed a five day road trip. Wednesday saw Jeff joining the "Wednesday evening ride" with a group of guys that he connected with through someone at Chris King. After some early Friday morning thunder, lighting and plenty of Rain Jeff and I attempted to find the Alpine Trail in Westfir. Although we made it to the top we were not successful in finding the singletrack (after doing it 5 times, three times in last years CCP...). Still we did manage to find all the lower portions and this made for a complete day. Connecting with SOMBA we were able to get some directions to the "trail to nowhere" in Ashland on Saturday. Lovely trail. Sunday we decided to do a local race in Yreka to check out their trails.

They have more than one would expect. Great singletrack. The mayor was there and he talked about the land they are trying to add to Greenhorn park. Fun time. Not bad results for each of us. Both getting 1st in our respective categories we also were third overall on the sport loop. Not a bad way to check out some local trails and meet some nice folks.
