Race Report - Billy Cross Racing

Billy Cross Racing 9/21

Race Report by Brenton Hamilton

Amidst the heated debate on preferred pivot point technology, I took my trusty hardtail up to Lake Sonoma for a little Billy Cross racing on Sunday.

Yeah, it was hotter than hell, but the thought of those ice cold brewskies awaiting me after 3 laps was enough to keep me going.

By start time the temperature has already reached 90. I took off at an easy pace, probably 6th into the single track. I rode clean and was 4th in the overall sport cat at the end of lap 1. I found my rhythm in lap 2 and started to pick off riders, even a few experts. At the end of lap 2, I was in 2nd place overall (sport). I pushed on for lap 3 trying to catch first place. Never did. Finished 2nd overall and 1 of 5 in my 31 to 40 category.

Did I mention that I was the only TWWer there. Even Ken commented on the absence of late of TWW at Billy Cross. We have two more chances to redeem ourselves... Oct 12 and Nov 9. Come on team - lets get out there and support this great grassroots racing.
