Race Reports
Not much time so this one will be short and sweet...

I just finished building up my On One last w/e and was itching to try it out. I opted for a 33/17 ratio.  Showed up at Ford Ord at around 11am, the only other TWWers there were Kathleen, Jeff and Patrick. Jeff had a major mechanical at the start of his Sport race so decided to fix his cross bike and line up in the Expert field.

The nine SS'ers took off last on a course that ran almost reverse of the usual one. After about a 1/4 mile of paved road, I was in 7th place going into the single track. The course was running very fast and I quickly realized I should have had a 16 or even 15 on the back. My 33/17 was suited for about 1/4 of the course.  For the rest, I was spinning like a Hampster!

Over the next 4 laps, I managed to pull in one SSer and a couple of geared riders to finish 6th. The On One was a blast.  Equipped with a FOX F80X and bunch of Race Face stuff, this bike just makes you want to go out and ride. 

Congrats to Jeff for finishing 5th in the Expert field.
