STAY TUNED FOR 2002 -
WE PLAN ON EVEN A
BETTER EVENT - MORE
JUMPS, TURNS, AND
WHO KNOWS, MAYBE
A SECOND COURSE & RACE.
MAKE SURE YOU PUT US ON
YOUR RACE SCHEDULE!!!

Well, our FIRST EVER DH race has come and gone. And based on the input of you, the racers, the race was a great success. We had 126 registered racers participate. We eliminated the $1/shuttle fee and ran them FREE all weekend. We gave out over $10,000 worth of schwag at the raffle including the coveted Mountain Cycle Tremor FR-1 frameset. Marla Streb donated some loot for the raffle too. She kicked booty in the Pro Women's field and then promptly headed out on her motorcycle to have some throttle twisting fun.

What else? Internally, things went well too, with the exception of a couple of glitches. But we learned OH SO MUCH from our first effort. That will help to make our next race even better. Thanks for putting up with our few mistakes and some heated exchanges. We'll do our best to raise the bar even higher in the future. And thanks for all the nice comments - your input is greatly appreciated.

Hope y'all had fun! Take it easy and see you at the next one...

And if you see any of these people at races or wherever, give them your thanks:

Live in the Bay Area? Tired of driving to Timbuk-freakin'-2 to race DH? Or just wanting to get to a race that has that certain mojo?

Well, we at Team Wrong Way can sympathize with you. We're tired of driving forever to get to good DH races too. So instead of whining about it, we've taken matters into our own hands and are organizing our very own DH race.

* May 6, 2001 - MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! *

To help out our friends at the 007 race at Bass Lake, we've moved our date. Hope this doesn't cause any inconveniences, however, we thought that it would be best for everyone for us to make the change. This way you can race at two cool races instead of having to choose just one.

You know us - we put on the Dirt Crits at the motocross track (Club Moto). Well, we've again linked up with our two-wheeled motor-driven brethrens (partially inspired by the Ride Series DH races in Hollister). This time we're hooking up with Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area (or check out their alternate site), located just outside of Livermore, California. Yup, Liver-freakin'-more, Califor-nye-eh. Just a 30 minute drive east from the 580-680 interchange. And don't worry - no more Friday night-mare traffic. This race is on Sunday.

We've designed our own course - being racers ourselves, we'd like to think that we know the needs of the modern racer - good course and markings, reliable timing and scoring, good organization, and a great time. If you're going to pay your hard earned money, you should get a good product. We think we can deliver.

Please note - while we are putting on a DH race, Team Wrong Way does not condone reckless DH riding on trails open to the general public (hikers, equestrians, etc.). We have chosen CSRVA as our venue because it is a motorcycle/4WD park - it will have minimal impact on the aforementioned users. Because the park is not utilized by hikers and equestrians, we believe this is an appropriate venue for a DH race. Please respect other trail users, ride in control, and ride on open trails only.
