* 4th Annual Groovy Gravity Games *

Dang, what a weekend! This definitely was our biggest and baddest GGG ever!!! Thanks so much for your support - we hope you had a great time. Other than the last minute panic Saturday night (actually technically Sunday morning), all went smoothly. The course was great (amazing how a year of weathering can change that place), the racers were great (thanks for leaving us alone in the scorers tent), and the vibe was two words: SUH WEET!!! We can't think of a better way for this to end. Finishing on top. No Michael Jordan's here (he should've stayed retired after hitting that winning shot of his last championship). Of course, I suppose we should never say "never"...

This event couldn't have happened without the help of the Team Wrong Way crew (and their significant others who provided much needed support through all the bickering and madness). A mad shout out to the TWW peeps:

And there were others who helped as well. We're sorry if you weren't given props here. Shoot an e-mail to mike@teamwrongway.com and let me know so you can be posted here. We'd also like to thank the folks at Carnegie as well - they had the confidence in us to let us put our event on while they had another major event happening in the park. And they let us camp fo' free and gave us our own entrance so we wouldn't have to wait in those long lines for the MX hillclimb.

April 4, 2004 (04.04.04) - MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!!

Okay folks, we're back - and this likely will be our last one. The planets have aligned for us (our 4th race on 04.04.04) and we're going out with a bang. This year's event promises to be the biggest and best one yet. Don't wait to register - we will fill this year's field. Some people have said we're a good warmup for that race in Monterey - well, we feel ours is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better (no disrespect to them, however this is a REAL downhill course, right?)

We had to raise our price this year (we apologize for that) but there are several reasons why. The cost of everything has gone up - insurance costs have increased significantly. We're now required to provide an ambulance on practice day. Shoot, even the cost of those freakin' porta potties has gone up. I guess it is true when they say sh_t runs downhill (and no, we're not referring to our racers). :) But we are making all shuttles for both practice and race day FREE.

Anyhow, enough babbling. The course will be similar to our epic course last year with the berms and jumps and of course the freeway section. We may add some surprises to the course, so make sure you get out and practice. As usual, we'll have the fun atmosphere, tunes playing throughout the day, results posted very quickly, and tons o' schwag (well, we're still working on that one). But this year we promise not to throw out all the loot. The people who buy raffle tickets will be rewarded. (We're tying up our "tosser" this year).

Check out the freakin' suh-weet video of the GGG by Pete Fagerlin.

Please note - while we are putting on a DH race, Team Wrong Way does not condone reckless DH riding on trails open to the general public (hikers, equestrians, etc.). We have chosen CSRVA as our venue because it is a motorcycle/4WD park - it will have minimal impact on the aforementioned users. Because the park is not utilized by hikers and equestrians, we believe this is an appropriate venue for a DH race. Please respect other trail users, ride in control, and ride on open trails only.
