24 hours of Adrenalin
May 5-6, 2001
Monterey, California

The 24 hour race in Monterey was an excellent event. Wacky costumes, a Mariachi band and interesting base camps added to the festival type atmosphere. Great weather, great camping and a great scene all around.

Not too much representation from TWW but ROMP members were out in force like Kathleen Meyer, Paul Nam and Chris Vocci, Karen Morgan and her husband John.

Team T.O.S: Margaret, Merlilee, Eve, Kirsten and Susann (the 3 Wrongettes of the team) did an amazing 22 laps and took fourth. They could have been on the podium if it wasn't for "Chicky Kickey Booty" - a bunch of pro/expert women who easily took first.

The men's solo category with easily won by Kirsten's favorite racer Tinker Juarez who raced by himself through the night with 24 laps. We got to meet him. He's a really nice and humble guy.

Congrats for all who participated. It was truly a memorable weekend. It looked like a lot of fun and I wish that I could have raced as well. Next year.
